Matt Mangano

Matt is the Owner and Principal Engineer of Mangano Design Engineering & Permitting. Matt is a licensed Professional Engineer serving the La Jolla, San Diego, and broader Southern California community since 2014. Matt is also licensed in Utah and Colorado. He specializes in high end residential design, commercial projects, historic home preservation, breweries and restaurants, commercial tenant improvements, pools, and retaining walls. He also has experience with large-scope projects, utilizing the latest in contemporary design for corporate and institutional projects. He is passionate about working with the entire project team (Architect, Contractor, Owner, Designer, and suppliers) to phase projects and find the most efficient and cost effective solutions for the client. Matt is an avid surfer and soccer player.

Xander Simpson

Xander is a Project Engineer with Mangano Design Engineering Permitting. Xander was born and raised in San Diego. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering as well as a minor in Business. He also has his EIT Certification. Within our team, Xander is an integral part of design analysis, site investigation, structural detailing, drafting and modeling. Within the structural engineering realm, he is passionate about solving complex problems collaboratively. He also enjoys helping a design project come through the permitting and construction process, and seeing it maintain its structural integrity for many years to come, especially with California's strict seismic codes. Xander spends his time outside of work traveling and playing his favorite sports, basketball and flag football. His next trip is to: Spain!
